From the Bride: We have both been married before, Steven (14 yrs) me (7 yrs). He has three children and I have none. Steven is active duty in the US Army, 20 years on our wedding day). He was in Fairbanks Alaska for 5 weeks as an instructor. I, on a whim, booked an 8 day trip to visit a friend whose husband was on a deployment. Steven and I met Friday evening (8.15.2014), I flew home Sunday evening. Steven approached our table on their way out to pay me a compliment, and I called him out for waiting till he was on his way out. Five minutes later he came back and asked to leave me his number because he wanted to take me out to dinner. I took his number. Long story short, our song is "Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss). We got coffee, went to dinner, talked for hours and hours before I was to fly home to Utah. He asked if we could see where this went. I asked what it was to look like. He said, "who knows, it's a first. We get to make it into what we want." I believed him. We continued to get to know one another while being long distance. After completing his teaching he returned to Ft Benning in GA. And continued to get to know one another while being long distance. Early on we began sending each other songs that made us think of one another and now have a playlist of songs we listen to regularly. We are always adding to our playlist. Music is big to us. I visited him in GA a few times. Eventually relocating down there with him. The rest has been history. Our wedding date is the two year anniversary of the day we first met. We recognize it was a chance meeting as our paths had never crossed before. We both were in marriages that weren't based on true love. We truly feel we have found our true love and soul mates. We feel stupid for ever having confused the other kind of "love" for true love. We love the outdoors. We love road trips. We love exploring. We love hiking. While in GA for 7 months we put 18k miles on the car exploring SC down to FL along the coast, north to Gatlinburg, TN and Nashville, TN, west to Louisiana and into Dallas. We got stationed in WA a year ago and have driven down the coast of Oregon to California's redwoods NP, to crater lake in OR, and to Yellowstone in WY. We love our national parks. We love our selfies from each adventure we've had. Plus our push pin map capturing all our trips!
